First off what exactly are toxins? Toxins are chemical
substances, that are interfering with the body's own natural, chemical
process.Toxins are unfortunately everywhere. They are in the products we
use, the food we eat and the water we drink. Fortunately we can do a lot
of things to prevent these toxins from building up in our bodies! 1.Eating
a healthy diet is one of the major ways we help our body to fight off
toxic build up and disease. Avoiding eating over-processed food and
especially fast food. We are what we eat! 2.Overeating and over
drinking put major stress on the body's digestive system. If you tend to
get hungry in between meals try drinking a cup of tea or a glass of
water. One of my favorite healthy snacks is an apple with a 1/2
tablespoon of almond butter. 3. Eating late prohibits us from
getting a healthy night of sleep. When we sleep, the body uses that time
to rebuild and restore itself. If we are falling a sleep with a full
stomach, the body will have to use some of that time digesting. Notice
if you eat late, you may tend to wake up feeling tired and disoriented. 4.WATER,
WATER, WATER! Most of us are chronically dehydrated, due to the foods
we eat and the lack of water we drink. Water cleanses the inside and
outside of the body, helping to aide the body release toxins. When the
body is not receiving enough water, toxins tend to stagnate. So drink as
much water as you can! If you have trouble drinking water itself try
non-caffeinated herbal tea! 5. Stress effects every cell and
tissue in our body. Stress can break down the immune system as well as
major organs. Stress itself is toxic to the body and unfortunately we
live in a very high stress society. What we can do to minimize the
stress is take time for ourselves. Even if it's a moment out of the day,
make that time. Meditation is a great way to connect with the body and
block out all, that may be causing stress. Stay tuned for my blog on
simple meditation techniques that anyone can do! Remember it's not what we do some of the time, it's what we do MOST of the time that counts. |
